about us
The non-profit corporation, Nantucket Therapeutic Equestrian Center, Inc. was founded in September/October 2005, and filed with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization and is doing business as Sea Pony Farm. The Center is a licensed Massachusetts Riding School and became a North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) Center Member in October 2006. Seapony Farm became a Member of the Nantucket Chamber of Commerce in September 2007.
The Founder, Catherine E. Conte, was born in Worcester, Massachusetts. Catherine has been an Attorney since 1989, with a primary focus of her law practice being Child Abuse and Family Law, serving in the Juvenile and Probate Courts. Ms. Conte is the President/Clerk and Program Director for the Center. She is a Massachusetts Licensed Riding Instructor and a Registered Therapeutic Riding Instructor with the North American Riding for the Handicapped Association (NARHA) www.narha.org.
The Treasurer/Director, Donald A. Conte, is a retired attorney and successful businessman.
William P. Cassidy is an island businessman and lifelong resident of Nantucket Island.
Further Directors will be added as necessary and appropriate for the successful operation of the non-profit.
