Wally is a light brown Jack, miniature donkey, born at Woodland Farm Minis in Rutland Massachusetts along with his half brother, Ray.
Wally arrived in Nantucket in April of 2008. He is very shy and Most Handsome.
Walnut “Wally” is considered to be much like “Tigger” in “Winnie the Pooh” being bouncy, exuberant and can cause utter mayhem while looking for fun.

Miniature Donkeys have loving personalities and demand attention. They form close attachments to their owners and to other donkeys. They are herd animals. They communicate by “braying”, also commonly known as hee-haw. Every donkey has they unique style, and if you are late for supper you will hear from them.Donkeys are good for the soul, their owners love is very important to them, they will surround you in the field begging for attention, they surround you with affection.
The Miniature Donkey is native to the Mediterranean Islands of Sicily and Sardinia where they were generally used as working animals. The great majority of the donkeys that were imported and bred were between the size of 32” to 35”. With proper lifelong care they can live 25-45 years. They have loving personalities and form close attachments to their owners and herd mates.
On the whole, Donkeys are very quiet animals but do communicate by “braying”, more commonly known as a “hee-haw”.
